PLEA FOR COALITION GOVERNMENT
“That in the present circumstances and in view of the crisis at present facing our country and our Empire, and to avoid the disturbing elements which a general election would entail, we reiterate our former claim that a truly representative coalition Government should be formed.” The above was a remit, proposed by Mr B. Clearwater, which the Southland provincial executive of the Farmers’ Union at its meeting yesterday decided to forward to the annual provincial conference of the union next month.
