BRABIN SHIELD MATCH AT CHRISTCHURCH

CHRISTCHURCH, December 28.

Brabin Shield teams representing Auckland, Wellington, Canterbury and Otago began a cricket tournament today in fine weather. All the players are under 21 years of age. The match between Wellington and Auckland today resulted in a win for Auckland by three wickets. Play was confined to one day because rain prevented play yesterday. Wellington batted first on a dead, easy wicket and made 160. Auckland replied with 164 for the loss of seven wickets.
