Willowbank Is Likely Cup Favourite

CHEVAL D’ORO AND TURCO TO MEET AGAIN The Winton Trotting Club will present one of the best programmes in its history at its annual meeting tomorrow. Not only will the Winton Juvenile Stakes and the attempt by Rocks Ahead on the mile track record be outstanding attractions, but the fields right through have filled particularly well and assure a great day’s racing. The form exposed at the Gore meeting on Boxing Day has provided a line to prospects at Winton, and as a consequence speculation in most events will take a wide range. t Cheval d’Oro and Turco will' be the favourites for the Winton Juvenile Stakes, an event which is now well established, and considering that this is only the second year it has been run, the size and quality of the fields says a lot for the standard of the sport in the province. Willowbank, Iron Duke and Aspirant promise to be the favourites for the Winton Cup, which has drawn an exceptionally strong field, although it is possible that there will be one or two scratchings. The track is in excellent order and as was the case at Gore fast times should be recorded in most events. The win-and-plaCe system of betting will be in operation and the first race is to start at 12.15 p.m.
