Mr J. Hargest, M.P., will leave for Christchurch by the express this morning.
Mr George Gould, Christchurch, arrived in Invercargill yesterday and is staying at the Grand Hotel.
Mr K. B. Muirson, Inspector of Factories, Scaffolding, and Weights and Measures at Invercargill, has received advice of his transfer to the district office of the Department of Labour in Wellington. He will leave Invercargill on January 16. Major A. A. Tennent, of the Fourth Field Ambulance, is at present visiting Invercargill on final leave from Burnham camp. Mr M. M. Cooper, B.Agr.Sc., B.Litt. (Oxon), diploma of rural economy (Oxon), and former Rhodes Scholar and graduate of Massey College, has been appointed lecturer in dairy husbandry at Massey College. He succeeds Dt C. P. McMeekan, who has been appointed to the chair of agriculture (animal husbandry) at Canterbury Agricultural College.
