Both Injured Men Die
ALL MEMBERS OF CREW NOW DEAD

CHRISTCHURCH, May 12.
Both men who were injured in the aeroplane crash at Wigram last night died in the Christchurch Hospital today. One man, Acting Pilot Officer Reginald James McCrorie, was killed when the machine in which the three men had been carrying out night flying exercises struck a tree as it was coming in to land at Wigram, crashed and burst into flames. Those who died today were: Aircraftsman George Henry West. Pilot Officer William Frederick Dawson. Aircraftsman West, who was 25 years of age, came from Bluff. He had been stationed at Wigram for two years. He died at 6.10 p.m. from severe burns. Pilot Officer DaWson died from burns earlier in the day. CAR PLUNGES DOWN HILLSIDE OCCUPANTS SUFFER MINOR v INJURIES (United Press Association) TIMARU, May 12. While negotiating a hill at Maungati this evening a car left the road and plunged down a steep hillside 150 feet before coming to rest in thick gorse. The occupants had a miraculous escape from serious injury. Ambulance officials had cut a track through gorse down the hillside to transport the injured to the road, the task occupying nearly an hour. The driver, F. Eggleton, farmer, was not injured, but ms wife suffered petrol bums, injury to an eye and concussion. Eric Hines, who had been an inmate of the Timaru Hospital, and who was being taken home at the time of the accident, suffered concussion, head injuries and petrol burns. Hines’s -mother was treated for a t cut head. \
The car was extensively damaged but fortunately did not take fire. PASSENGER FATALLY INJURED MOTOR-CAR LEAVES ROAD (United Press Association) 1 CHRISTCHURCH, May 12. Fatal internal injuries were received by Clarence Amos, aged about 22 years, a farm labourer of Kaituna, when the car in which he was travelling as a passenger left the road and somersaulted, landing on its hood at Birding’s Flat, about 3.20 a.m. today. Amos was later admitted to the Christchurch Public Hospital where he died at 6.25 a.m. The driver of the car, Ronald Turner, a railway surfaceman of Ataahua, received injuries to his chest and his condition is reported from the hospital as being serious.
SHIP'S OFFICER FALLS
DOWN HOLD
(United Press Association) WESTPORT, May 12,
Serious injuries were suffered by the chief officer of the Union Steam Ship Company’s vessel Karepo, Mr Kehoe, this morning at Westport. Soon after berthing Kehoe and another member of the crew were engaged in attending the winch. Kehoe slipped and fell backwards down an open hatchway to die bottom of the hold, a distance of 30 feet. After attention Kehoe was removed to the Buller hospital where his condition last evening was stated to be serious., The extent of his injuries is not known. Kehoe is a married man with one child, and resides at Auckland,
