MINIATURE RIFLE SHOOTING annual meeting of CLUB The annual meeting of the Pukerau Miniature Rifle Club was held recently, when Mr F. P. Norton presided. The annual report stated that the past season had been a most successful one for the club. The standard of marksmanship had shown a steady improvement and the membership and interest had been well maintained. There were 39 financial members compared with 33 the previous year. Twenty-four shoots were held during the year, besides three cup matches with the Wyndham Club and a friendly match with Tapanui. The club cups were won as follows:—Championship, H. Redman; aggregate cup, N. Morrison; grand aggregate shield, George Valentine. The Pukerau team was again successful in winning the United Trading Company’s Cup, a shoot-off with Wyndham being necessary after a win by either team. A match with the Tapanui Club on the Pukerau range resulted in a win for Pukerau by 762 to 748. The annual report and statement of accounts showing a credit balance of £l2/5/6 werfc adopted. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted: President, Mr F. P. Norton; vice-president, Mr J. Burnett; secretary and treasurer, Mr A. P. McDonald; range officers, Messrs L. Herron, N. Sharp, J. McDonald and C. O’Hagan; official score markers, Messrs G. Valentine, E. Valentine, J. Murray, N. Morrison; armourers, Messrs N. Sharp, F. Norton, H. Redman; stewards, Messrs A. McKenzie, R. R. Millar; handicappers, Messrs F. Norton and L. J. Millar; committee, president, secretary, range officers and scorers. Following were the scores in shoot No. 2 of the opening competition:—F. Norton, 80-1-80; H. Redman, 78-1-79; E. Valentine, 78-1-79; J. Burnett, 78-2-79; G. Valentine, 78-3-79; A. P. McDonald, 77-4-79; L. Millar, 76-5-79; J. Norton, 75-6-79; L. Welsh, 75-6-79; A. Hay, 77-1-78; A. McKenzie, 72-6-78; J. Murray, 72-6-78; P. Hay, 75-1-76; J. McDonald, S. Catto, 72-3-75; J. Cunningham, 72-3-75; R. Millar, 70-3-73; James Burnett, 66-4-70; N. Morrison, 66-4-70; T. Rush, 58-9-67; back shoot, 74-3-77; unhandicapped— G. Henderson 73, C. O’Hagan 71, W. Asher 70, R.
