A. J. Shaw’s colossal drive of well over the 300-yard mark at the Titahi golf links last Sunday during his exhibition match with J. D. Mclntosh serves to recall a tremendous drive he accomplished at the Nelson links, at Tahunanui, years ago, says The Sports Post. The exact length of the drive is forgotten, but they have got the spot marked with a small white panel on the fairway. Stalwarts of the Nelson links have not passed the panel yet, though they have been close to it. The Titahi effort must go down in the annals of the seaside links as something prodigious, for the fairways were on the heavy side, and it was raining at the time.
