Mr Ernest Yokes, of Bath, who refereed the match, said: “It is a fact that an open knife was thrown on to the pitch. McCulloch (Brentford centre forward) picked it up and handed it to me. I did not see a man come over the rails, but I savz him on the pitch afterwards. As far as I am concerned, that is all I know. I reported the incident to the Football Association.”
