Making Belts.
Belts, by the way, that you make yourself have an advantage over bought ones because of the touch of individuality you give them. Leaf belts are effective. You want soft suede in two different colours from which to cut leaves that imitate those of the plane tree ,in outline. Mount the leaves, alternating the colour, on bands of webbing, or wide elastic, arranging them so that they overlap one another. Wooden Tableware. Wooden tableware which has been gaining favour recently has two new forms in a fruit dish, in which wood is combined with metal, and in a cheeseboard that consists of a walnut base with a circular space hollowed out for the cheese and a glass dome to fit over the top. The fruit dish is of metal with ,a block of wood going right through the centre to make a foot to support the dish. Above half-a-dozen woodenhandled fruit knives are held in ’ slots at the top of the back.
