GLASGOW UNIVERSITY ELECTION
LIBERAL CANDIDATE WINS (British Official Wireless) (Received October 23, 6.30 p.m.) RUGBY, October 22. The Glasgow University students’ rectorial election, to which more than usual publicity was given this time through the efforts of the Scottish Nationalists to nominate Dr Eduard Benes, the former President of Czechoslovakia, resulted: Sir Archibald Sinclair (Liberal) 579 Sir Henry Lunn (Distributist) 314 Laurence Housman (Pacifist) 303 About 28 per cent, of the matriculated students polled.
