CARRIAGE DERAILED
MISHAP TO EXCURSION TRAIN (United Press Association) MASTERTON, October 22. A delay of about four hours was caused to an excursion train proceeding from Wellington to Masterton as the result of a slight derailment on the Rimutaka incline last night about one mile and a-half from the bottom of the incline. Two of the four wheels of the front bogie of .a carriage which had been added to the train at Upper Hutt left the rails and the buffer of the carriage broke. After a new buffer had been fitted and the wheels replaced, the train proceed to Cross Creek, where the carriage was detached. There were about 250 people aboard, but they were hardly aware that anything had happened until the train came to a stop.
