STORES READY TO RECEIVE WOOL

PREPARATION FOR NEW SERIES Woolbrokers throughout the Dominion are practically ready for the reception of wool for the 1938-39 series of sales. The sales begin in Auckland at 9 aia, November 26, and the December roster, with bales offered last season, is as follows: —

Allocation of the quantities to be offered at each sale is the function of the New Zealand Wool Committee, which body is representative of wool growers’, buyers’, and brokers’ interests. Shearing is now in progress in the Auckland area, and some wool has already been received into store for the sale. It is feared that wool from the Waikato district may be reduced . in quantity because of the depredations made by facial eczema'. Auckland will open the season with a carry-over of between 700 and 800 bales now held in city stores. The carry-over in Wellington is likely to be small. Some early-shorn wool has already been received in this centre. Dalgety and Co. report offerings and sales July to September as follows:—
