SOCIAL EVENING AT WYNDHAM

A happy social evening was spent by the members of the Wyndham Church on Wednesday evening. The Rev. N. Challenger presided and following the opening hymn and prayer, a programme of concert items and competitions was given. Those contributing to the concert were Mesdames E. S. Humphries and D. Townley, Misses E. White and E. S. Macfarlane and Master lan Thompson. Mr Macfarlane and Mrs Lobb played the accompaniments. Interesting competitions were held, the winners being Mrs Macfarlane, Misses M. Thompson,

M. Fraser (2), Master lan Thompson, Miss Thelma Challenger and Mr Challenger told some interesting Bible stories. After supper, provided by the ladies, the chairman took the opportunity of making a presentation of a pyrex dish to Mrs Robson, as an appreciation of the work she had done for the church during her stay in Wyndham, and on behalf of the members he wished her every success in her new’home. A vote of thanks to all who had helped to make the evening a success, and the pronouncing of the benediction, brought a happy evening to a close.
