Built for one-way traffic, this set of teeth, belonging to a pike, all point towards his throat. When he traps another fish in his jaws, the teeth will swing inward as though on hinges—but they cannot swing outward. Once he clamps his jaws solidly, there is no chance of his dinner escaping. Though the points break off, the teeth continue to grow.
