BRIDE AND GROOM FROM SOUTHLAND
WEDDING IN LONDON DUNLOP—MACDONALD At Marylebone Presbyterian Church, London, on July 13, the wedding took place of Mr Francis Wallace Dunlop, son of Mrs Maud Dunlop, of London, and the late Professor F. W. Dunlop, D.Ph., of Dunedin, to Miss Edith Hislop Macdonald, daughter’ of Dr and Mrs J. G. Macdonald, Don street, Invercargill. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. James Burns. Larkspurs of pink and blue, and hydrangeas of pink decorated the church. Dr Macdonald gave away his daughter, who wore a dress of navy blue and pink lace, with navy blue picture hat trimmed with pink flowers. She car-
ried a Victorian posy to match. Miss Rose Hinchey (Aidershot Military Hospital) daughter of Mrs W. Hinchey, Gala street, Invercargill, was bridesmaid, wearing a dress of navy blue and white, with a navy-blue picture hat, and carrying a Victorian posy of pink flowers. Mr John Bonar Dunlop (brother of the bridegroom) was best man, and Dr John Dunlop was groomsman. After the ceremony the bride’s parents held a reception at the Hotel Great Central, the guests including the Misses Mary and Jessie Dunlop, Dr and Mrs Fisher, Mr and Mrs Russel, Mrs and Miss Macpherson, Miss Borden, Mr and Mrs Ernest Robinson, Mr and Mrs Alfred Keene, Miss Joan Hislop, Mrs Julian Christophers, Miss Juliet Christophers (Wellington), Miss Gwen Hislop (Dunedin), Miss Primmer, Miss P. Smith, Miss Joan Thompson (Dunedin), Mrs Edwards, Mrs Allen, Miss Ruth Lush (Invercargill), Miss Mary Camp-
bell (Gisborne), Miss Nancy Stewart, Major R. G. Campbell, Messrs R. K. Smith, M. K. Carswell, lan Macdonald, and George Jennings. The bride’s mother, who arrived from New Zealand with Dr Macdonald only a few days before the wedding, wore a dress of wine-coloured lace with coatee, and a navy blue turban with a tulle veil. The mother of the bridegroom wore a Paris model of black taffeta with a floral design, a silver fox cape, and a wide black picture hat with a crown of pink georgette, finished with a posy in pink and violet When the bride and bridegroom left by motor-car for Devonshire and Cornwall, the former was wearing a winecoloured woollen frock and coat, with a turban of navy blue swathed with pleated chiffon to match the suit, and her accessories were navy blue. Mr and Mrs F. W. Dunlop left for New Zealand on August 21 by the Rangitane. They will live at South Hillend.
