A bright and interesting entertainment was given in the Southland Boys’ High School hall on Thursday afternoon by the boys of the school to mark the end of the school term. An appreciative audience enjoyed the varied programme of songs, instrumental items, vocal quartets, dancing and two original and very cleverly-presented farcical sketches. A large number of parents and friends also attended. The proceeds were in aid of the school drum and bugle band which aims at equipping every member with- a bugle and trumpet. The funds were further increased by a generous donation of £1 from Dr Buras Watson.
