A SIMPLE TABLE
This table is extremely simple to make; and it may be used for many different purposes: as a table for 1 portable or table gramophone, a table for the typewriter, a tea-table, a bed-side table, a fireside table, or as a table for grandmother to play her game of patience upon. The joints are simply square butted; to make a stronger job it would be possible to house them. Three 2in nails are drawn through the top into the legs. Along the middle of the top, underneath, a stretcher piece of board 21jinx 4in X jin is nailed; and nails are driven into it through the legs. Glue
blocks set against the stretcher hold the/table rigid.
The top is 24inx 15in x Jin; the legs are 21in x 14Jin x Jin, and
have a piece cut out of the lower end to make feet. All the 3° lnts must be cut quite square or the table will twist If soft red pine
is used it will take a coat of paint or stain satisfactorily.
