—HIGHLY COMMENDED—
Once upon a time there lived a little mouse called Marmaduke. He had a small hole under the pantry floor. . He was not very good, because he got up to mischief nearly every night. When everything was quiet at night, Marmaduke would come out of the pantry, through the doors, and start to nibble at the wall paper. He would try to get into the cupboard. One night the cupboard door was closed, but it was not fastened, so Marmaduke knew the door was not shut properly. . He tried to open the door. He tried and he tried, and tire fifth time he succeeded. He
upset the jug of milk, broke two jam dishes, upset the little jug of cream for breakfast, spilt the salt and sugar and trod in the jam. Marmaduke thought he would nibble at the cheese. When he had finished the old cat gave a growl. Marmaduke did not stop there. He was soon back in his hole.
So that ended the adventures of Marmaduke Mouse. —2 marks to Cousin Warren Smith (9), Section 8, Glencoe R.D.
