HOLIDAY VISIT TO NEW ZEALAND
HORSEWOMAN RETURNS FROM SYDNEY Miss V. McMillan, Tauranga, a New Zealander who has been resident in Sydney for the last 12 or 13 years, has arrived by the Awatea on a holiday visit to New Zealand. Miss McMillan, who is probably the best-known woman rider at the Sydney show, has seven times won the title of best woman rider. She contradicted the report that she had been seriously injured when riding at the recent Royal Show at Sydney and said that though she was badly bruised and shaken by a fall from her horse and was taken to hospital, she was not admitted as a patient. In company with Miss Sanderson, another well-known rider, Miss McMillan had won the women’s pairs events with two Melbourne horses. Loyalty and Trooper. Miss McMillan was riding Trooper in another pairs event when the accident happened. Trooper, who was a favourite with show visitors, having won a large number of championships, badly injured a shoulder and may never be able to compete again.
