A young man, who was stated to have arrived in the country only recently and whose name was suppressed, appeared on a charge of attempted suicide. Senior Sergeant W. Kelly, who prosecuted, said that the had been very depressed during the last fortnight. . “He had better be remanded in custody for a week,” said the Magistrate. “After that time the man could probably be released.”
