DISTRICT FAT LAMB COMPETITION

SOUTHLAND EXHIBIT TO BE KILLED ON DECEMBER 22 The Southland exhibit in the district competition for export lambs will be killed at the Makarewa freezing works on Wednesday, December 22. Mr D. Windle has been nominated to judge the lambs in the yard before the killing to decide the winners of the Southland A. and P. Association’s cash prizes. Two judges, Mr W. Falconer, president of the association, and one of the New Zealand Meat Producers Board’s graders will make the final selection of the lambs to be sent to London. A meeting of the directors of the Southland A. and P. Association will be held next Friday, when, after conferring with lamb buyers and drafters, final arrangements for Southland’s part in the competition will be made.
