Britain’s premier baronet is Sir Hickman Beckett Bacon. His ancestor, Sir Nicholas Bacon, was knighted in 1578 by Queen Elizabeth, and was the first person to receive a baronetcy. He was the brother of Francis Bacon, King James I’s Lord Chancellor and famous occovist.
