EGGS THROWN AT BANDSMEN
PERFORMANCE SPOILT BY GANG OF LARRIKINS (United Press Association) AUCKLAND, December 6. Eggs and other missiles were thrown by a gang of larrikins at members of the Onehunga Citizens’ Band during a recital yesterday afternoon. Though much of the rubbish landed on the roof of the rotunda some reached its objective and the performance was spoiled. “In forty years’ band experience I have never witnessed such a stupid occurrence,” said Mr A. Leatherby, the bandmaster, this morning. “If the bandsmen give their time and effort voluntarily they should have the co-PD4>ration of the public.”
