EDENDALE BOWLING CLUB
Good progress is being made with the club’s handicap singles competition. In section A, H. S. Raines is leading with six wins, followed closely by W. Irvine who has suffered one defeat. R. Marshall heads the list in section B, having scored six wins and been so far undefeated. Irvine’s defeat was at the hands of the section leader, Raines, and this match was an exceptionally interesting one. Both men played at the top of their form—the result being in doubt until the last bowl was played. Raines (3) was the victor by a single point. . , . It appears almost certain that Raines and Marshall will have to contest the flI Already a start has been made with the handicap pairs, and some interesting games have been witnessed. Tomorrow evening, Edendale will challenge Hokonui for the Crawford Pairs Cup. The Edendale pairs will be T. Scoular and H. S. Raines and G. H. Smith and C. C. Hall. RAINFALL FIGURES
Very little rain fell in the Edendale and Wyndham districts during the month of November. Recordings taken at the New Zealand Dairy Products factory, Edendale, show that there was a total of 1.865 in, the heaviest fall on any one day being .600 in on Tuesday, the 16th. Rain was registered on only eleven of the thirty days, the individual readings being as follows:—Wednesday, November 3, ,110 in Friday, November 5, .190 in Monday, November 8, ,280 in Monday, November 15, ,080 in Tuesday, November 16, .600 in Thursday, November 18, .060 in Friday, November 19, ,040 in Saturday, November 20, ,045 in Sunday, November 21. .050 in Wednesday, November 24, .350 in Thursday, November 25, .060 in total, 1.865 in.
