SIX PEOPLE INJURED (United Press Association) ASHBURTON, December 4. Six people were involved in a collision on the Ashburton traffic bridge at eleven o’clock last evening when a motor-cycle with a pillion rider ran down four cyclists who were on their way home to Tinwald. George McClintock was seriously injured and was admitted to hospital and Cecil Annett, John Frederick Harris and Henry James Martin were slightly injured. Alb-rt Frederick Broughan, the driver of the motor-cycle, was slightly injured and Raymond Fergus Okie, the pillion rider, was badly shaken. FATAL HEAD INJURIES (United Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, December 5. Severe head injuries from which he later died, were suffered by Alfred Warner, aged 22, when a petrol tank exploded. The accident occurred on Friday afternoon and Warner died in hospital last evening. Warner, an employee of the International Harvester Company, Ltd., was welding the petrol tank with an acetone plant when the explosion occurred. It is assumed that there must have been petrol fumes or a trace of petrol in the tank.
