A small allowance of pollard or barley meal—about a double handful ar animal a day—will fatten the penned pigs much more quickly than will the usual ration without the meal, and will repay the comparatively small outlay handsomely. Getting the pigs awaj to the works a fortnight or so earlier will save enough skim milk to fatter an extra pig or so. This being the case, it will pay always to get the pigs away as soon as possible irrespective ol a prospective drop in prices.
