HEAVY DAMAGES AWARDED

WOMAN KNOCKED DOWN BY MOTOR-CAR (United Press Association) Damages amounting to £2013 12/were awarded in the Supreme Court today to Margaret Donn, a married woman, of Kaiwarra, who, as the result of being knocked off her bicycle by a motor-car on the Petone esplanade on the night of August 29, 1936, received a permanent and severe injury to her left knee. She claimed damages amount - ingto £2163 12/- from Frederick Nathaniel Robertson Meadows, the owner and Tiora Meadows, the driver of the car. The Chief Justice (Sir Michael Myers and a jury of 12 heard the case.
