GOVERNMENT ACTION APPRECIATED
SYNOD’S RESOLUTION ON EVIL OF ABORTION (United Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, October 19. “This synod expresses appreciation of the action of the Government and expresses its abhorrence of the practice of criminal abortion and calls on church people to co-operate with the Government in whatever steps are taken to cope with the evil” was the text of a resolution carried at the twenty-seventh annual synod of the diocese of Christchurch today. The synod also decided that a copy of the resolution should be sent to the Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage).
