DEATH FROM SEVERE BURNS

ELECTRIC IRON LEFT ON IN MISTAKE (United Press Association) MASTERTON, October 19. An inquest was held today into the death of Mrs I?abell Jackson, who was fatally burned in a fire at her home on the morning of October 6. The Coroner (Mr E. G. Eton) returned a verdict of death from shock and severe burns. , , The evidence showed that the fire was caused through an electric iron being left on in mistake- for a radiator and when the latter was seen to be out it was concluded that the switch had been turned off. The late Mrs Jackson was a well-known and highly respected resident, at one time being Mayoress, and a prominent social worker.
