SUPREME COURT
PRISONERS SENTENCED AT WELLINGTON (United Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 17. The following prisoners were sentenced by Mr Justice Ostler:— John Randall Ferguson, aged 24 years, a labourer, three charges of obtaining food by false pretences at Gisborne and Wellington, two years reformative detention. Henry Emanuel Blick, aged 69 years, a seaman and labourer, indecent assault on a male at Takaha, three years’ imprisonment with hard labour. Horace Raymond Edlin, aged 31 years, a labourer, breaking and_ entering, theft and arson, two years’ imprisonment with hard labour, and declared an habitual criminal.
Ida Minnie McLeod; aged 31 years, married, two charges of breaking, entering, and theft, and one charge of breaking and entering with intent, admitted to two years’ probation. Malcolm John Williams, aged 23 years, joiner’s apprentice, four charges of theft at Palmerston North, two years’ probation and to pay the costs of the prosecution. John Beattie, aged 24 years, a blacksmith and labourer, indecent assault on a female at Marton, two years’ imprisonment with hard labour. Rauhuia Te Huatahi Ngerengere, aged 38 years, a labourer, incest at Tikitiki, five years’ imprisonment with hard labour.
Daniel Spene Andrew, aged 21 years, a farm labourer, assault with intent to commit rape at Hawera, three years’ imprisonment with hard labour.
