AUSTRALIANS’ ATTITUDE DEPLORED SYDNEY, June 17. The tendency of Australian people to decry and slander politicians and public men was deplored by the Federal Attorney-General (Mr R. G. Menzies) during a speech at Goulburn. “We have organs of public opinion which live entirely by attacking the personal reputations of leading men,’ said Mr Menzies. “This has caused public life to become so debilitated that it is likely to lead to dictatorships.”
