HOME BREW SEIZED

PROSECUTIONS AT ASHBURTON. (United Press Association.) Ashburton, August 14. A fine of £lO was imposed on Ernest Dobbin for selling liquor without a licence. A similar penalty was imposed on William Crellin. The police stated that an analysis of the home brew seized showed 9.31 per cent, of proof spirit in one brew. No fewer than 116 bottles were found, apart from large barrels of a brew. In inflicting the maximum fine of £2 on the men found on the premises the Magistrate said it was a. pity they could not be charged with aiding and abetting.
