BROWN OWL CAFE

REDECORATION COMPLETED. Fire and water made small alterations necessary in the Brown Owl Cafe and the opportunity was taken to redecorate it. With the exception of new lighting, which has not yet arrived, these changes are now complete. Miss Paterson during her recent trip to Australia made use of some ideas suggested in places she visited, although there were few restaurants there that came up to the standard maintained in Invercargill. To celebrate the completion of the redecoration, on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons of this week from 3.15 a programme of music and dancing has been arranged by Miss May O’Byrne, who recently returned from a tour of England and the Continent. Miss Mary Gilbert, a brilliant young pupil of the O’Byme School of Music, will be at the piano. The dancing will be arranged by Miss Kathleen Derbie.
