RIMU NOTES

W.D.F.U. (From Our Correspondent.) The local branch of the W.D.F.U. celebrated their first birthday on June 12. An enjoyable evening was spent in games and dancing, Mrs W. Emerson acting as M.C. Items were also given by Mrs Davidson (songs), Mr A. Cook (songs) and Master J. Waddel (dances). Music for the dances and games was supplied by Mr A. Cook, Mr and Mrs Murdoch and Messrs W. and D. Stewart. The lucky spot waltz was won by Mr and Mrs H. Bulling. At supper time the birthday cake, made by Mrs A. Carswell and decorated in green and pink by Mrs J. Crombie, Kennington, was brought in. Mrs J. Cameron, president of the branch, welcomed the visitors and then called on Mrs Dawson as the oldest member, to light the candle and on Miss T. Stewart, the youngest member, to blow it out. After the president had cut the cake the visiting presidents, Mrs Frew, Woodlands, and Mrs Maxwell, Kennington, also cut a slice each.
