AN EXPLANATION

BRITISH ROPES," LTD.

(Per United Press Association.) Wellington, June 15. The New Zealand representative for British Ropes, Ltd., has received a cable from his principals denying certain statements made at a meeting of the Auckland Harbour Board on May 21. The cable says the position has apparently been misunderstood. British Ropes, Ltd., are not to be confused with the Federation of British WireRope Manufacturers, which consists of 26 independent manufacturers, British Ropes, Ltd., being only one. The cable adds that the company in no way controlled the federation, which was entirely responsible for the prices and selling conditions.
