STILL FAST
OMANA IN GREY RIVER.
(Per United Press Association.) Greymouth, June 11. Further attempts to refloat the Omana off the gravel bank in the Grey River failed to-day. Though the tides are rising, it may now be necessary to discharge some of the timber cargo. The weather remains severely cold, snow falling this evening throughout the road route from Murchison to Greymouth. Two inches fell at Reefton, but it was very light here.
The Kiwitea, which is a vessel with a gross tonnage of 2343, was built by W. Gray and Co. at Westhartlepool. Her measurements are: Length 280 feet, breadth 44 feet. She is a single screw vessel and is propelled by a threecylinder triple-expansion engine. The Kiwitea is a coal-burner and is a wellknown cargo ship on the New Zealand The coal-burning cargo vessel Omana was built by Osbourne, Graham and Co., Sunderland. She has a gross tonnage of 2523, and is 303 feet in length. The vessel which has a beam of 46 feet is driven by a three-cylinder triple-expansion engine.
