BRITAIN’S PREPARATIONS. (British Official Wireless.) Rugby, June 5. The Home Secretary said in the House of Commons in connection with preparations for national defence and the possible danger of incendiary attacks from the air that he hoped to make a statement after Whitsuntide on the question of setting up a committee to consider schemes for bringing all the fire brigades in England and Wales up to an approved standard of efficiency and interlinking them without regard to local boundaries.
