LODGE MEETING
COURT SOUTHERN, NO. 9298. The fortnightly meeting of Court Southern, A.0.F., held on Thursday, was presided over by C.R. Bro. William Bridges, there being a large attendance of members. It was decided to invite Aroha Lodge, 1.0.0. F., to a card match after next meeting. Several matters of importance were discussed and further consideration postponed until a future meeting. The visitors’ toast was responded to by P.C.R. Bro. J. P. Dalton, Court Star of the South. After conclusion of the meeting a competition evening was held. The prize-winners being: Handsawing, ladies, Mrs N. Smith; men, Bro. F. Thompson; nail driving, Mrs W. Feaver, Bro. E. C.‘ Armstrong; scallywag, Miss Prendergast, Mr Orme; quoits, Mrs F. Thompson, jun., Bro. J. Chisnail; darts, Bro. F. Thompson; bedmaking for men, Bro. B. F. Eastlake. The last named competition created much amusement, the judges, Mr F. Thompson and Miss Prendergast, having a hard task to find the winner At the meeting of Court Star of the Forest, A.0.F., C.R. Bro. J. Cleine presided over a large attendance at the Public Hall, Woodlands, on Wednesday last.
P.C.R. Bro. G. Piercy, delegate to the annual district meeting, gave an interesting report of the business transacted.
Bro. J. S. Sadlier was elected secretary of the Social Committee. The visitors’ toast was replied to by S.W. Bro. F. Thompson, Court Southern.
