CHILD WELFARE
LEGISLATION MAY BE AMENDED.
(Per United Press Association.) Auckland, June 3. The possibility of amendments to the legislation controlling the Children’s Court being introduced in the near future was mentioned to-day by the Minister of Justice, the Hon. J. G. Cobbe. •_ He said that this legislation had lately been receiving his attention and it was possible that a conference would be called of those directly concerned in the administration of the Child Welfare Act. The department had procured from the Home Office the latest literature relating to the legislation and officers were now considering whether our legislation could be suitably brought into line . with that in England.
