KING’S BIRTHDAY
AUCKLAND PARADE. IMPRESSIVE PAGEANT. (Per United Press Association.) Auckland, June 3. The Governor-General, Lord Galway, took the salute and parade in the Domain this morning of representative units of the navy, army and air force. The form of the parade was necessarily similar to that of the King’s Jubilee parade four weeks ago which set a new standard, but it did not suffer by comparison even though the number participating was somewhat less. The weather was beautifully sunny and there was a large attendance of the public to witness the pageant in which they for a brief period became actors as, while the Royal Salute was fired they stood motionless facing the troops, and later when at the GovernorGeneral’s call they gave three cheers for the King. LORD GALWAY’S MESSAGE BIRTHDAY GREETINGS TO KING. (Per United Press Association.) Auckland, June 3. The Governor-General (Lord Galway) has sent a message to King George as follows: “I have the honour on the occasion of your Majesty’s birthday to tender to you the Royal and affectionate good wishes of your Majesty’s Government and people of New Zealand and _to assure you of their steadfast devotion to your Majesty’s throne and person.”
