HON. ADAM HAMILTON
DEPUTATIONS RECEIVED. The Hon. Adam Hamilton, Postmas-ter-General and Acting Minister of Finance, spent the week-end in Invercargill and will travel to Dunedin by the express this morning. In Dunedin on Saturday morning Mr Hamilton received a deputation from the Alpine Club concerning the building of a hut in the Dart Valley. He then inspected the -Post Office at present under construction, and visited Pelichet Bay where the granite blocks for the building are being cut. Yesterday the minister journeyed to Riverton and received two deputations. The first one asked for a sum of money from art union funds to assist in the construction of a memorial building to house a quantity of relics concerned with the early days of the town. The second deputation stated that it was hoped to stage centenary celebrations in Riverton at the beginning of January, 1937, and that assistance 'from the Government would be appreciated. Mr Hamilton assured the deputations that their requests would receive the sympathetic consideration of the Government. •
