QUESTION OF EQUALITY BRITAIN, AMERICA AND JAPAN IMPORTANT MATTER (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 8.5 p.m. London, April 22. The Morning Post claims that Japanese equality in naval strength with the British Empire and the United States is a matter of supreme importance to Australia and New Zealand and other possessions in the Pacific as their defence can only be achieved by sea power. A programme of meetings with the dominion prime ministers will be drawn up directly Sir John Simon returns. The unsettled state of Europe must dictate the concentration of the greater portion of the British fleet in European waters, so fewer ships are available for vital lines of sea communication.
