WYNDHAM STOCK SALE Messrs Henderson and Co., Ltd., report:— There was a fair yarding of sheep, the bulk being medium to good rape lambs. The fat sheep pens were filled. There was keen competition for these and prices realized fully schedule rates. Competition for good rape lambs was spirited, with the result that practically the whole yarding was sold at auction at prices slightly in advance of last sale. There was a fair number of smaller lambs yarded. The demand for these was extra keen and prices realized considerably about late sales. A few pens of breeding ewes were harder to sell owing to it being too early in the season for farmers to stock up. Very few cattle came forward and prices were just on a par with last sale. We sold:—Sheep: 15 fat lambs at 21/6, 50 rape lambs at 18/5, 125 store lambs at 17/9, 136 at 16/9, 254 at 16/8, 376 at 16/7, 75 at 16/3, 59 ewe lambs at 16/-, 70 at 13/7, 59 at 13/3, 58 wether lambs at 13/6, 113 at 12/6, 14 cull lambs at 8/9, 50 at 8/1, 73 fat ewes at 14/6, 30 at 14/-.
