TALK OF COUP
PARTY IN BRITAIN MENTION IN HOUSE OF LORDS SEIZURE OF RADIO (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 7.15 p.m.) London, November 9. During the committee stage in the House of Lords of the Incitement to Disaffection Bill, Lord Allen of Hurtwood said it recently came to his knowledge from a source he had no reason to doubt that there was some kind of movement afoot in Britain to seize the British Broadcasting Corporation and bring about a coup d’etat similar to the one'prepared in Vienna. L ~ Interviewed by the Daily Herald, Lord Allen refused to say whether the plan came from the right or the left, but said it was seriously discussed by one of the parties which believed in unconstitutional action. He did not think the plans had progressed beyond the contemplation stage.
