Judgment by default was given for the plaintiffs in the following cases:— T. J. Henderson v. H. McKenzie for £9 13/1, with costs 33/6; same v. F. J. Macdougall for £5, with costs 23/6. Breaches of the Licensing Act. W. and R. Spencer, who were charged with being found on licensed premises, Trembath’s Hotel, after hours, were each fined 20/- shillings with costs 10/-. John Ford was similarly charged with respect to the Tuatapere Hotel and was fined 20/- and costs 12/-. The wife of the licensee of the Globe Hotel was charged with selling liquor after hours and was fined £5 and costs 10/-. H. Trail and J. Mclvor were charged with being found in the Globe Hotel after hours and were fined 20/- and 10/- costs.
