TECHNICAL COLLEGE

SWIMMING SPORTS SEVERAL RECORDS BROKEN. Excellent races, fast times and an Enthusiastic attendance assisted to make the annual swimming sports of the Southland Technical College, which were held in the Municipal Baths yesterday afternoon, one of the most successful gatherings yet organized by the college. The staff and pupils, assisted by officials of the Southland Swimming Centre and the Superintendent of the baths, Mr H. S. Baker, co-operated admirably in the conduct of the sports, the programme of which was despatched in fast time. During the afternoon several records were shattered, some by a substantial margin, but apart from this the general standard of performance was pleasingly high.
