MINISTER TO RESIGN CHARGE. ORDAINED AT GORE 44 YEARS AGO. (Per United Press Association.) Hastings, November 5. The Rev. J. A. Asher advised the members of St. Paul’s Church, Napier, that it is his intention at an early date to resign to the Presbytery of Hawkes Bay the charge of St. Paul’s which was entrusted to him some 36 years ago. It will be 44 years this month since Mr Asher was ordained at Gore and at the present time no other man in the active ministry of the Presbyterian Church can look back to so long a period of active service.
