RESULTS FOR 48 WEEKS. NET REVENUE OF £966,000. The abstract of the railway working account for the period ended March 3 was published in the Gazette last week. It gives the complete figures concerning which a preliminary statement was made on March 23. The net revenue for the period shows an increase of £2640 compared with that for the corresponding four weeks last year, the respective totals being £158,275 and £155,635. The gross revenue was £582,009. which is £14,474 more than in the corresponding period last year. Expenses amounted to £423,734, an increase of £11,834. Operating revenue in the North Island was £310,914, an increase of £19,475. Expenses were £226,930, an increase of £Bl9l. Net earnings increased by £11,282 from £72,702 to £83,984. In the South Island, receipts were £214,237 and expenses £166,163, a decrease of £10,407 and an increase of £1348 respectively. Net earnings decreased by £11,755 to £48,074: Net revenue from miscellaneous services was £26,217, an increase of £3113. The gross revenue was £56,858 and the expenditure £30,641. Following is a summary of the net results for the corresponding periods of four weeks in the last three years:—
