TEACHER’S DEATH. (Per United Press Association.) Dunedin, October 28. Miss Susan Rowan Melrose, aged 39, a former school teacher at Mosgiel, was heard groaning in her bedroom this morning and a doctor ordered her removal to the hospital, but she died in the ambulance. A bottle of poison, almost empty, was found on the bedroom floor. Deceased had been suffering from nerve trouble. FATAL FALL FROM HORSE. (Per United Press Association.) Opotiki, October 28. G. T. Bulde, a jeweller, fell off a horse on the Waiotahi Beach this morning and broke his neck, death being instantaneous. CYCLIST KILLED. (Per United Press Association.) Auckland, October 28. A young married man named Stevens employed by the Union Steam Ship Company was killed instantly in Waterfront Road when cycling home from work at mid-day. He followed a lorry from behind which he swerved out to turn up a side road. At that instant a big passenger bus was crossing the intersection and he struck it with such force that his skull was fractured and his cycle wrecked.
