ARABS IN PALESTINE

GENERAL STRIKE ORDERED. (United Press Assn.— Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 7.10 p.m.) London, October 27. The Jaffa correspondent of the Daily Mail says that as a protest against increasing Jewish immigration, the Arab executive ordered a general strike throughout Palestine to-day, including a mass demonstration in defiance of the High Commander’s prohibition. This resulted in extraordinary police and military precautions, including additional foot and mounted British police. Two companies of the Royal Ulster Rifles are hastening to Jaffa, also armoured cars from the Air Force’s Ramleh base.
